Big character with a strong, malty flavour. This wonderfully intense Assam tea has a robust character typical of the best Assams. A great breakfast choice which stands up well to a touch of milk.
Brewing the best cup. Use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup and always use freshly boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste, depending on your preference for strength. Enjoy with or without milk.
The Assam tea bush grows in a lowland region, in the valley of the Brahmaputra River; an area of clay soil rich in the nutrients of the floodplain. Along both sides of this river lie the rolling plains of the world's largest tea growing area, along with the highest yield per acre.
The climate varies between a cool, arid winter and a hot, humid rainy season - conditions ideal for growing tea. This tropical climate contributes to Assam's unique malty taste, a feature for which this tea is well known.
