Kenya produce some of the world’s most distinctive coffees and this little beauty is a superb, rich, flavourful example. A highly prized Zawadi coffee, purely peaberry beans, grown in the high-altitude plateaus of Kenya. Only a small percentage of coffee beans grown are peaberries and this unique type are created when only one seed inside the berry germinates and grows into a single oval bean, rather than two flat faced sides. Expect an intensely fruity acidity with big flavours of rhubarb and red berry jammy sweetness.
We wanted a good early morning coffee that was tasty but not too strong: we have now ordered a second delivery as this blend suits us very well.. It is not for those who want to be knocked over the head with each cup but allows us to have that second follow on cup with a clear conscience!
We are very pleased with the service from Tugboat and the free samples are a charming gesture. We intend to have Tugboat as our supplier for a long time!
Top marks. Coffee pretty much turned up instantly! Put the order in the PM and it was here in the AM!
Lovely light and sweeter coffee for those of us who are not into strong bitter wake up calls!
just brilliant coffee beans, but its the roast of the beans thats perfect.
I have one word to describe it: rank!
I have used Kenya Peaberry (from suppliers in Aberdeen and London) for years; they has never disappointed. The beans supplied had different use by dates from different batches I suspect and the stuff is just horrible .... it’s not smooth it’s more akin to the garbage served in the big 3 high street chains. Very disappointing.
The service was good, delivery was prompt and the price aggressive - go figure.
I can recommend Tugboatbrews but not their Kenya Peaberry!
Wonderful every day drinking coffee. Makes you want to go and see the coffee estates around Mount Kenya.
